VERMICELLI IDILS
INGREDIENTS:
1. 1 cup vermicelli
2. 1/2 Tsp. mustard/rai seeds
3. 1 Tsp. chana dal
4. Few curry leaves
5. 1/2 cup curd/dahi
6. 1 Tsp. ginger garlic paste
7. 1 Tsp. finely chopped
green chillies
8. 2 Tbs. finely chopped
carrots(you can add beans,cabbage)
9. 2 Tbs. finely chopped coriander
leaves
10. 1 Tsp. oil
11. Salt to taste
METHOD:
1. Heat 1 Tsp. oil in a wok.
Add the mustard seeds, chana dal and the curry leaves. Let it splutter. Add the
dry vermicelli and mix well.
2. Remove from heat. Add the
curd, chopped carrots, green chillies, and ginger garlic paste, salt to taste
and mix well.
3. Grease the moulds of the
idili maker lightly with oil. Add spoonful’s of this vermicelli mixture and let
it steam for 15 minutes or till the vermicelli is fully cooked and set.
4. Serve hot with coconut
chutney or tomato chutney, sambhar of your choice.
